OB Recreation Basketball

Old Bridge Basketball is proud to provide a fun, competitive, and developmental recreation basketball program for the youth of our community. Our league is designed to help players improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game in a positive, team-oriented environment.

Divisions

Divisions are organized by grade level and gender. While offerings may vary based on registration numbers each season, our typical Winter divisions include:

• Instructional (Co-Ed): 1st & 2nd Grade (Sunday mornings)
• 3rd Grade Boys
• 4th Grade Boys
• 5th Grade Boys
• 6th Grade Boys
• 7th Grade Boys
• Junior Boys: 8th & 9th Grade
• Senior Boys: 10th–12th Grade
• Prep Girls: 3rd–5th Grade
• Middle School Girls: 6th–8th Grade

High School Girls: We'd love to offer a division if there is enough player interest.

League Information

• Teams consist of up to 10 players.

• Teams are not formed until we have enough volunteer coaches.

• Every team plays a 10-game regular season, beginning in January.*

• Games are held at Old Bridge Township public schools.

• Games may be scheduled on weeknights or Saturdays, depending on gym availability.

• Every team qualifies for the playoffs.

• Championship Day is typically held mid-to-late March.

• The Junior and Senior Boys divisions conclude before local high school basketball tryouts begin.

• The Instructional Division meets Sunday mornings at Old Bridge High School, beginning in January.

Schedule is subject to weather and facility availability.

Volunteer Coaches Needed

Our recreation program depends entirely on volunteer coaches.

• No previous coaching experience is required.

• Coaching is a rewarding way to make a positive impact on our young athletes.

• Please consider volunteering to coach a team this season!

Team Formation & Playing Time

Old Bridge Basketball is committed to providing a fair and enjoyable experience for every player.

• Teams are balanced as evenly as possible based on player evaluations and available information.

• Coaches are required to follow our Equal Playing Time Policy.
