Respect for Officials & Scorekeepers
Our basketball officials work hard to ensure every game is played fairly and safely. While no official is perfect — just as no player makes every shot they attempt — their decisions are final and must be respected by all spectators, fans, coaches, and players alike. Disrespect toward officials will result in technical fouls and possible ejection from the game. Spectators who harass officials or scorekeepers may be asked to leave the gym.
Our Scorekeepers are High School students who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Any coach or player who curses at or screams at a scorekeeper will be immediately ejected and technical fouls will be assessed — no exceptions.
Please remember: the scorekeeper's book is the OFFICIAL record for all scores and equal playing time charting at every game.
Coaches and assistant coaches are strongly encouraged to keep their own running record of both their team and their opponent, and to check in with the scorekeeper after each quarter to catch and resolve any discrepancies early.
Let's keep our games competitive, fun, and respectful for everyone involved!
